My sister and her disabled husband are in danger of losing their home. Their story is filled with much sadness and death. My sister is unable to work outside of the home, as she is the sole caregiver of her husband, who is very disabled. He has seizures, terrible migraines, is unable to walk more than a few feet, has fibromyaliga. Their only son passed away 7 years ago from a stroke and massive heart attack at the young age of 22. Three years ago, my sister's mother-in-law passed away and then a few months later, her sister-in-law passed away. (Both lived with my sister and her husband). Since my sister is unable to work outside of the home (being the sole caregiver of her husband), the only income they have is his disability. There exists a balloon mortgage on the home (taken out by her mother-in-law before she conveyed the property to them) and the note was due in October of this year. They have been trying to work with the lender, only to be tricked again and again. Being told that the lender will work with them and then to be told, "Nope, we want the money now or we will foreclose". Now, they were with the understanding that the lender was willing to work with them and then at the 1st of the year, they could refinance and get a better loan with a better rate. This week, they received a letter stating that the existing lender wanted their money or they would start foreclosure proceedings. This is just not the news that they were hoping for. My sister has started a 'go-fund-me' page www.gofundme.com/6nxjn9pk. Please go to this page and even is you can only donate $1.00, that may help them to keep their home.
